As a huge fan of colour in the most potent form, I have always been a huge fan of Emilio Pucci. The signature psychedelic colourways and timeless cut have forever been emulated but rarely hit the mark. After recently receiving a wonderful new piece of Pucci from a dear friend, I felt it appropriate to dedicate a post to some of my favourite pieces and ads by the infamous 60s designer. I shall refrain from giving a full history about Emilio Pucci as there is a wealth of that information available online and in several books (Vintage Fashion by Zandra Rhodes has a great deal of information and textile history). As any of you who own a piece of Pucci history will know- there's no going back from feeling that delicate silk against the skin, the king of colour will always reign supreme, he did for fashion what Matisse did for art and imitators simply don't compare.
