As one of my all-time favourite fellow redheads, I feel I must dedicate one of my first posts to the original sex kitten... Ann Margaret.
Ann began her career as a singer and was signed to RCA in 1961 within a few months her acting career also took off with her debut movie being; Pocketful Of Miracles in which she acted alongside my all time favourite silver screen actress Bette Davis. Her most well known role, was that in Viva Las Vegas, alongside Elvis Presley, the man whom she would have the well documented passionate affair with , during his marriage to Priscilla Beauleiu (a.k.a Priscilla Presley).
It's impossible to deny the on screen then off screen chemistry Elvis & Ann shared during filming Viva Las Vegas, the tension is positively electric and makes for one of my favourite cinematic moments. If I ever made a music video, it'd have to be a technicolour shimmy-fest like this. Only Ann can make a sweater and opaque tights sexy!
One of her lesser known roles, but undeniably one of my favourites, is The Swinger (1966). The most famous scene of course is when Ann is slathered in paints half naked and dragged across a white sheet to create one messy but very wild looking party piece. Also attatched is a great clip from The Swinger.. why aren't parties like this any more?!
